Food System: Theory and Practice:
The class is 6-weeks from June 25th to August 3rd.
We will meet twice a week for 3 hours a week.
What makes a food system sustainable? This course answers this surprisingly complex question with a hands-on and theoretical exploration of the food system. Using Michael Pollan's Omnivore's Dilemma as our starting point, we will consider all aspects of the food system including policy, social, and cultural factors that influence our food system. Through hands-on experiences and field trips, we will observe the factors that make up our food system and how that shapes our communities and nation.
